Where did my little man go?

Seriously, I know everyone says this ALL THE TIME, but how the heck has Carter gotten so big??!!  My friend Chris sent me some pictures from her phone and I just can't believe how much he has changed.  He went from having a little bit of dark hair, to no hair, to a full head of BLONDE hair.  And now he won't let me cuddle him unless he is asleep.  No wonder people having multiple kids, I want my baby back!  But of course, we are having so much fun with him these days.  He is on the move and is really wanting to walk.  He laughs at all of my dumb jokes, and LOVES to be in the water.  He does a lot of "talking" unless there are a lot of people around.  He gets pretty shy around a group... he definitely gets that one honest!  He is my little blonde hair, blue eyed baby that doesn't look anything like me, but stole every piece of my heart.  And to add to the list of cliche things people say, "I can't imagine what life was like before him".  See how much he has changed in just a little over 9 months:

Empty Promises

Okay, I mean it this time.  I am going to be better about updating my blog!  My wonderful husband got me an Ipad for my 30th birthday a few weeks ago, so now I have no excuse!  Today is Jamie's 31st birthday, I just turned 30, Carter will be 9 months old tomorrow, and a lot has been going on in our household!!!  I will try and back track and do some catching up, but it might just be better to start fresh.  We are still in the process of moving in our new house...that's right, we are not in the condo anymore!!  We are renting a house in Marietta and REALLY enjoying our new space.  We just got back from a birthday/graduation celebration for Jamie in Savannah.  Carter went to his first Tech football game last week.  Jamie and my wonderful friends and family threw me a surprise 30th birthday party.  Jamie graduated with his MBA from Georgia Tech.  I could go on and on, but I'm sure y'all will find of of that boring.  Instead I will update with some new pictures tomorrow when I take Carter's 9 month photo.  I hope y'all haven't given up on me...I'm turning over a new leaf :o)

Being back at work has made me a bad blogger....sorry!  I will be catching up on LOTS of things this weekend and lots of pictures, stay tuned!

**CRolls is 4 months old today!

A New Do

I took a plunge and went for the "mom do".  Just kidding, but really I chopped my hair.  Monday I went with my mom and I cut about 12 inches off my hair and had it straightened.  I donated my ponytail to Locks of Love, so I hope it finds a loving new home!  Hopefully with my hair straight and short I will be able to get ready faster (keep your fingers crossed), and it won't fall in Carter's face while I hold him.  When you get it straightened you can't wash it for 3 days, so I get to start my first day of work on that third day!  They are going to think I gave up showering on my maternity leave, ha!  I hope it stays this straight and shiny when I actually get to do it myself  :o)

What a Champ

Carter did fantastic at daycare!  We get a report at the end of the day and Mrs. Nona showed us some pictures she took of him.  They have something called the Bye Bye Buggy....it is pretty much a huge stroller that all of the infants can go ride around in (it is so cute, I will take a picture of it).  Mrs. Nona said he LOVED it and showed me pictures of his laughing while riding in it.  Seriously one of the cutest pictures I have ever seen of him.  She also said he loved watching the older kids play and was mesmerized by the big kids.  And today they took him into the atrium in the bye bye buggy to watch the big rain.  As much as I hate leaving him I am so glad he is doing well.  Tomorrow I start work....hope I remember how to do everything :o)

Dooms Day

The dreaded day as come....today was Carter's first day of daycare.  Jamie has a Horizon's school is his building at work so Carter will be tagging along with daddy everyday.  We have heard fantastic things about this daycare/school and it will be great that Jamie is so close and can visit him as much as he wants.  It would only be better if I worked in the building as well :)  Carter will also have buddies there....our friends Chris and Grant's son Mac will be starting this summer and our friends George and Danielle have a little girl starting at the same time.  I am fully aware that this will be good for him and he will be well taken care of, however it did not make this morning any easier.  I start work on Thursday but I wanted to ease Carter into this transition so he is going half days for the first two days while he gets his feet wet...okay, okay it's b/c I needed two days to adjust.  It's been an emotional day but I have done better than I thought.  I went in this morning for his first day and he fell asleep in my arms before I left....obviously it was hard for me to put him in his bed and walk away.  Just writing this post I am getting teary eyed so I am going to go pick him up.  I'm sure it gets easier everyday so wish me luck!  Starting soon his aunt Stacy is going to keep him two days a week so that will also be a transition.  I am grateful to have wonderful family and friends that help us out with our little man!!  On the way to GP I am going to stop and buy a lotto ticket just in case....I'm not losing hope on this stay at home mom thing, haha!!

Vacation

We just got home from Cape San Blas for our first family beach trip!  We had an amazing time, and I will be uploading pictures this week.  Sadly I become a working mom starting on Thursday....it's going to break my heart to leave my little man but it has to be done.  I will be enjoying my last full day at home with him tomorrow.  I hope I can make it through this week without lots of tears, but I highly doubt it.  Wish me luck! :)

Operation slim down!

Okay, it's time to get serious!!  I am ready for the baby bump to go away.  I have done pretty well on the scale thus far.  The actual number on the scale went down fairly quickly, but I still look like someone that just had a baby.  I need to lose more weight and do some serious toning up!  Carter needs to be 3 months old to go to the daycare at the gym so I am stuck working out around here.  The weather has been my enemy as well...it's too cold to take Carter out most of the time.  The handful of times I have gone running so far have been with just Kili while Jamie watched Carter.  So for now I will run when I can and hopefully make it to the gym on the weekends.  I also bought the Insanity DVD's and I can't wait to start those!!!  Jamie got back into the gym this morning, so it helps that both of us are working towards the same goal.  I will keep you posted with our progress...wish us luck!!

Valentine's Day

Ahhh, Valentine's Day....I love this holiday!!   Not sure why I like it so much, but I do!  Thankfully I have a wonderful husband that knows how much I love this holiday, and he never fails to surprise me with amazing gifts!  This year I was surprised with a beautiful bracelet.  My new bracelet has topaz stones all around it which is Carter's birthstone, so sweet!!!  Jamie and I normally go out to a nice dinner to celebrate, but since we have little man with us this year we are celebrating at Mellow Mushroom :)  I hope everyone has a wonderful Valentine's Day...even if you hate this holiday, I hope you have a great day!

2 Months Old

Carter Rollins was 2 months old on 2/7/2011!  He is doing great, and growing like he should.  At his doctor appointment he weighed 12 lbs and he was a little over 23 inches long...big boy! He has almost doubled his birth weight.  He is in the 75th % for height and weight and the 25th % for his head size...big belly and little head :o)  He is still waking up to the world, and he is getting more playful everyday.  He loves to smile and laugh now which melts my heart every time.  He really is developing a little personality, and he is so fun to be around.  Definitely a happy baby and we love spending time with him.  I still have another month before I have to go back to work so we get to spend lots of time together.  All 4 of us (Kili included) are heading to the beach at the end of the month for one last vacation before my maternity leave ends.  Driving to FL with Carter and Kili should be interesting...wish us luck!  Here are some of Carter's likes and dislikes at 2 months old:

Likes:
Sleeping on his tummy
His swaddle blanket (he will sleep through the night as long has he is swaddled)

Being held...his favorite place to be is still in my arms
His car seat...I even put him in there when we are home so he will fall asleep

His mobile...he loves to lay in his crib and watch his mobile go back and forth

Dislikes:
Putting his hat on....he likes to wear them, just not put them on
Getting buckled in the car seat....he likes being in there, but doesn't like to buckle in
Napping....he doesn't normally nap very long during the day

Beautiful Weekend

FINALLY some good weather!!  It is so much easier to get out of the house with Carter when the weather is nice!  This weekend the 4 of us broke out the jogging stroller and spent some time in the park.  It was too crowded at Piedmont to actually run, but we did have a great walk and spent some much needed time at the dog park. And Sunday Kili and I went for a run just the two of us, and C Rolls and Jamie went to the tennis match at GT.  CR loves the BOB stroller....he better!  Hope everyone enjoyed the good weather.  Here are some pictures of little man, enjoy:

Date Night

Jamie and I make a point to have a date night at least once a week.  Usually we go to dinner and take Carter with us, but this week we went alone!  Saturday my sister, Stacy, and my niece, Carson, came over and watched little man and Kili while we were gone.  First we went to Atlantic Station for a little shopping.  Then we headed over to Bone Garden Cantina for some mexican food and margaritas.  Food and drinks were fantastic, however we did have to leave half a pitcher of margaritas on the table...I am a light weight after 9 months without a drink, and Jamie had to drive us home, ha!!  All in all it was a great night and we were grateful for some adult conversation!  Dates with my wonderful husband will NEVER get old :)

Birthdays

Lots of birthdays this month!  First was our sweet niece Makenna turned 2!  We went to Carmen and Robert's house to celebrate Miss Makenna's birthday and we all had a great time.  Her cousin Carter even snuck some candy into birthday present :o)  Next was Grammy's birthday (Jamie's mom).  Her birthday was the same day as Makenna's birthday party...Happy Birthday Grammy!  Then it was my wonderful niece,Carson's 11th birthday!  I was lucky enough to be invited to her spend the night party at the lake.  So I took off and headed to South Carolina for a night while Jamie took care of Carter...thank you Jamie!!  And finally Kelly Jacobs turned 30, and the 3 of us went to her birthday party at La Prilla.  It was so great to see all of our friends and celebrate a great friends birthday!  I had a wonderful time at all of the parties, and I hope everyone had a great birthday!!

Snow Day 2011

I can't believe all of the snow/ice we have here in Georgia!!  Our street is a sheet of ice and Jamie can't get out to go to work, so he has worked from home for the past 2 days.  It has been great to have him home for so long, but we have to let him get work done during the day so I have to pretend he isn't here.  After he finished working yesterday we went outside to play in the snow.  We bundled up Carter in his snow suit, and as soon as we were ready to go outside he fell asleep.  Jamie was dying to throw snow balls at him, but since he was sleeping he threw them at me instead.  Carter did manage to make a snow angel during that nap though.  I hope everyone enjoyed the snow!

1 Month Old

On 1/7/2011 Carter Rollins was 1 month old.  He had a great check-up with his doctor.  She was thrilled that he put on over 3 lbs. in 3 weeks.  He went from the 25% in weight to the 75%.  He is in the 50% for his height, and 25% for his head size.  He is starting to be more alert and awake everyday.  We are working on getting him on a schedule.  Jamie and I are reading Baby Wise and it seems to be helping.  Maybe it is all in our heads, but we like the concept.  He still has good days and fussy days, but that it to be expected of a newborn.  Here are a few of his likes and dislikes at 1 month old:

Likes:
Riding in the car, he falls asleep right away
Taking a bath
His bouncing seat
Going out to eat
Eating
Passing Gas
Starring at the fan even when it's not on
Bouncing/Moving- it calms him when we bounce around
Music- he loves it when his mom makes up songs in the middle of the night

Dislikes:
Sleeping in his crib (even though is getting used it now)
The dark
Putting on lotion after a bath
Being cold
Changing clothes
Diaper changes (well, I should really say cold wet wipes)

All in all he is a happy kid, and we are enjoying every second we spend with him!

So Popular

I'm obviously talking about Carter and not myself!  We have been very busy over the past few days meeting people for lunch and dinner.  Thursday we had lunch with Shannon and dinner with Katie and Kelly.  And today we meet Jill, Shay, Laurie, Kristin, Kara, and Emily for mexican....it was Carter's first trip of many to a mexican restaurant!  Carter did great and slept through all of these meals!

He is doing great and becoming more and more alert everyday.  He is 1 month old today and he had his follow-up doctor appointment this morning.  He is 10 lbs!  He was 6 lbs 7 oz last time so he has put on some good weight.  He might have a linebacker on our hands!  We didn't get a chance to make his 1 month sign today, so I will do it tomorrow and post those pictures shortly.  Here are a few randoms though:
